You Are Too Broken

Fear says: You are too broken to be used.

Faith says: Your brokenness can help others in extraordinary ways.

We all have a past, right? Some with more dark corners than others. Messy parts. Ugly parts. Some with moments of uncertainty. Some with moments of heartache. Some with moments of clarity. Some with moments of doubt. Some with moments of true peace.

Fear tells you that you are broken. Unwanted. Useless. Fear is wrong.

Faith says use that testimony to touch someone’s heart. Sometimes, just sometimes, those ugly parts of your past or present…sometimes, sharing those things can literally be a lifeline to someone else.

Fear tells you to keep quiet and ashamed. Your past is embarrassing. People will talk. Your story is easily discarded. Easily forgotten. Just a foot note in the story of regrets.

Faith tells you to share your heart with others. To be an example of how God changes people, places, and situations. To be a light in someone’s darkest days.

Fear whispers, “You’ve messed up too many times. How could you possibly be of use to anyone? Now, stay quiet and small.”

Faith states with confidence, “Your past makes you an important part of someone’s redemption story. Don’t you dare waste that chance, and Don’t you dare be afraid.

What story does your life tell? One riddled with fear and doubt? Or one filled with all the hills and valleys and how you made it through by the grace of God?

You are not broken. You may need some mending in places. We all do. You are never too broken to be used for a higher purpose. Never let anyone tell you any different. You let fear creep in, and fear most certainly will work its ass off to firmly plant itself in your head. You let your faith take over, and amazing, life-changing things can happen. Trust me. I should know.

Feeling down or discarded? Who hasn’t ever felt that way? What matters is how you rise again. No one can create your comeback story except for you and where you place your faith. Are you placing your faith in the right places? That’s ultimately what writes the ending to your story.

Broken people save lives. Because to know brokenness is to know how to help people out of that dark place. Why would you ever hide that? Because your fear tells you to. God uses broken people to teach others how to heal. Don’t ever be afraid to use that every chance you get. You never know how your faith and your testimony could impact someone who is barely hanging on.

That someone who needs to hear your story needs you to put fear aside. They already have enough fear consuming them…show them what true faith looks like instead.

Fear is a liar.

Faith is a truth-seeking, radiant beacon of light and hope.
